What Is the Montecristo Edmundo Tubos?
Montecristo Edmundo Tubos is a handmade Cuban cigar from Montecristo, measuring about 137 mm (5â…œ in) by 52 ring gauge. It’s made with long filler from the Vuelta Abajo region and comes sealed in an individual cedar-lined aluminium tube. Habanos introduced the Edmundo size in 2004.
The name honours Edmundo Dantes, the hero of Dumas’ novel. It’s the closest thing to a Robusto in the Montecristo range.

What Does the Montecristo Edmundo Taste Like?
The Montecristo Edmundo tastes rich and balanced, with dark roasted espresso, cocoa, cream, and cedar over an earthy spice. Leather and a light floral note appear as it burns. Some smokers also notice a salty finish and a peppery kick. The strength sits at medium to full.
Early Edmundos were milder. Newer ones show more spice and coffee, so the profile has grown bolder over the years.
Why Choose a Tubed Cigar?
A tubed cigar arrives sealed in its own cedar-lined aluminium tube. The tube protects the cigar from knocks and helps hold its moisture, so it stays ready to smoke without a humidor for a while. It also slips easily into a bag or jacket pocket.
That makes Tubos a good pick for travel, for gifts, and for keeping one special cigar for later.
How Long Does a Montecristo Edmundo Take to Smoke?
A Montecristo Edmundo takes roughly 60 to 90 minutes at a relaxed pace. The 52 ring gauge burns cool and gives an easy draw, so slow puffs work best. Rest the cigar between draws to keep the smoke from turning hot.
Plan an unhurried evening. This one is better with time and a quiet seat.
How Does the Edmundo Compare With Other Robusto Sizes?
The Edmundo is longer than a classic Robusto, at 137 mm against 124 mm, with a thicker 52 ring gauge. That gives a fuller, longer smoke than a standard Robusto. The shorter Petit Edmundo offers the same ring gauge in a quicker format.
Compare it with the Cohiba Robustos or the Montecristo Robusto Edición Limitada.
How Should I Store Montecristo Edmundo Tubos?
Keep the cigar in its tube for short-term storage, away from sun and heat. For longer storage, a humidor at 65 to 70 percent humidity and 18 to 21 degrees Celsius is best. Dubai’s heat dries cigars fast, so don’t leave the tube in a hot car.
