Cutters Choice Original has built a loyal following among UK and European roll-your-own smokers, blending gold and bronze Virginia tobacco for a mild, smooth smoke with real flavor. It’s fine-cut, made for an easy roll without the tobacco falling apart mid-roll. Browse our full rolling papers and tobacco category if you want to compare it against other RYO brands.
It’s often described by longtime smokers as consistent pouch to pouch, which matters more than people expect once you’ve settled on a brand. Pair it with OCB filters if your pouch doesn’t already include papers and tips.
What Does Cutters Choice Original Taste Like?
Cutters Choice Original tastes mild and smooth, built on a blend of gold and bronze Virginia tobacco rather than the sharper, more peppery edge some rolling tobaccos carry. It’s fine-cut for easy rolling, with a flavor that stays consistent from the first roll in the pouch to the last.
If you want a slightly sharper alternative from the same maker, Cutters Choice also offers an Extra Fine blend, though Original remains the smoother, more classic option. Compared to Amber Leaf, Cutters Choice sits in a similar mild-medium range with a slightly different Virginia character.

How to Roll Cutters Choice Original for the Best Smoke
Take a pinch of tobacco roughly the length of your paper, spread it evenly along the crease, and roll firmly but not so tight it restricts airflow. A filter tip cools the draw and stops loose strands from pulling through.
Keep the pouch sealed between rolls, since fine-cut tobacco dries out faster than a denser blend once it’s exposed to air. Store it somewhere cool rather than a hot car or windowsill.
