What Is the Cohiba Piramides Extra?
The Cohiba Piramides Extra is a handmade Cuban torpedo from Cohiba’s LÃnea Clásica, measuring 160 mm by 54 ring gauge. Habanos S.A. announced it in 2012 as the first regular production figurado in the range. Only Cohiba uses the factory name Pirámides Extra.
A figurado is a cigar with a tapered shape. The pointed head focuses the draw and the flavour. It’s a special-occasion size within the Cohiba range.

What Does the Cohiba Piramides Extra Taste Like?
The Cohiba Piramides Extra tastes rich and elegant with medium to full strength. Expect chestnut and cinnamon early, then almond paste and black pepper. A soft oak note runs underneath, which comes from the cask fermentation that Cohiba uses for part of its filler leaves.
The profile builds as the cigar widens. Early puffs feel sweet and soft, and the spice grows toward the end.
How Long Does a Cohiba Piramides Extra Take to Smoke?
A Cohiba Piramides Extra takes about 60 to 90 minutes to smoke at a relaxed pace. Its 160 mm length and 54 ring gauge suit a long evening. Go slowly, because the cigar widens as it burns and the flavour builds.
Rushing makes the smoke hot and sharp. A calm rhythm keeps the cinnamon and almond notes clear.
How Do I Cut and Light a Torpedo Cigar?
Cut a torpedo with a sharp cutter, trimming only a small amount from the tip. A V-cut or punch also works well on the pointed head. Toast the foot with a soft flame until it glows evenly, then puff gently and slowly.
A clean cut protects the tapered head and keeps the draw smooth. Use a butane lighter, not a candle or a match, so no odd flavours reach the leaf.
How Should I Store Cohiba Piramides Extra?
Store the Cohiba Piramides Extra in a humidor at 65 to 70 percent humidity and 18 to 21 degrees Celsius. Dubai’s heat dries cigars fast, so a sealed cedar humidor is worth using. Keep the pointed head safe from knocks, since damage to a torpedo tip affects the draw.

Which Cohiba Should I Choose Instead?
Choose the Cohiba Piramides Extra for its torpedo shape and layered, spiced flavour. Pick the Cohiba Esplendidos for a longer, straighter cigar, or the Cohiba Siglo VI for a thick, creamy smoke. Each one carries the Cohiba signature in a different size.
