Captain Cook Pipe Filters are sized for standard 6mm pipes, with an inner double filtration layer that cuts down on tar and nicotine reaching your mouth while keeping the tobacco’s flavor intact. The 100-piece metal jar keeps them dry and dust-free between refills. Browse our full filters category if you want to compare 6mm and 9mm options before ordering.
They’re a straightforward accessory for anyone smoking pipe tobacco like the Captain Black range, giving a cooler, milder draw without changing the blend itself.
Do I Need Filters for a 6mm Pipe?
You only need filters if your pipe is drilled for one; not every pipe accepts a filter, so check your pipe’s specs before buying. If it does take a 6mm filter, Captain Cook’s double filtration layer gives a milder, cooler draw with less weight on the throat.
Each filter is meant for five to ten uses before replacing it, so a 100-piece jar covers a long stretch of regular pipe smoking. If your pipe takes a 9mm filter instead, Vauen’s Dr. Perl Junior 9mm filter is the closer match.

How to Use Captain Cook Pipe Filters
Insert one filter into the shank of your pipe before packing the bowl, making sure it sits snugly without forcing it. Replace it after five to ten smokes, or sooner if the draw starts feeling restricted, since a saturated filter pulls harder than a fresh one.
Keep the metal jar’s lid screwed on tight between uses to protect the remaining filters from moisture and dust. A dry, sealed jar keeps every filter in the same condition as the day you opened it.
